Dental technology at our Annandale, VA office

Annandale Dental Technology

What advanced technology changes about your visit

A gum, implant, or root canal problem is only as treatable as it is visible. Annandale dental technology at Prestige Dental Specialists exists for one reason: so your specialist can see the inside of your tooth and jaw clearly before the treatment begins.

What this means for you

  • Accuracy. Your specialist measures bone, roots, and nerves in 3D before any work starts.
  • Confidence. You see the same scans we do, and you leave knowing the plan.
  • Efficiency. Most of the planning happens off the chair, so appointments run shorter.
  • Comfort. Smaller openings, less tissue disturbed, and a recovery that asks less of you.

The tools that make it possible

CBCT cross-section showing tooth roots and surrounding bone

A 3D view before anything begins

CBCT imaging and a Trios 5 scanner replace flat X-rays and putty trays. We measure roots, bone, and nerves from every angle, so the plan is set before you are in the chair.

Navident dynamic navigation unit used during implant surgery

Implants placed with real-time guidance

Navident works like GPS during surgery. Your specialist plans the position digitally, then places the implant with live feedback on angle and depth while protecting the nerve and sinus nearby.

Gloved hand lifting a 3D-printed surgical guide from the printer

Guides and models printed in our own office

We print custom surgical guides and working models here rather than sending cases out. Planning and production stay with the same team, under one roof.

Surgical microscope used by our endodontists

Root canals under magnification

Our endodontists work under a surgical microscope and use laser-assisted irrigation to disinfect the branches instruments cannot reach. That thoroughness is what keeps a treated tooth working for decades.

Dental laser treating gum tissue

Gum treatment without scalpels or stitches

We treat gum disease with PerioLase, Fotona, and Biolase laser systems. Infected tissue comes out, the pocket is disinfected, and recovery is usually faster and less bloody than traditional surgery.

Intraoral scanner

The Trios 5 intraoral scanner replaces putty trays with a fast, digital impression. It captures your teeth and gums in a few minutes, and the scan feeds directly into planning for guides, restorations, and your dentist's records, with no goopy material and no retakes.

PRF centrifuge tubes prepared for treatment

Healing supported by your own biology

PRF uses growth factors drawn from your body to support healing after grafting or implant placement. Nothing foreign is introduced.

The Curious Corner

Does advanced dental technology cost extra?

At our Annandale office, imaging and dental planning are built into how we work—not offered as an optional upgrade. Your treatment estimate is based on the care you require, and our treatment coordinator will review all the details with you during your visit.

Is a CBCT scan safe?

A CBCT scan takes seconds and uses a low dose of radiation. We only take one when the added detail will change your treatment plan, not as a routine default.

Do I still need impressions with putty?

No. Intraoral scanning takes a few minutes, and most patients find it far easier than a tray of impression material.

I get anxious about procedures. Does any of this help with that?

It helps in two ways. Your specialist knows what to expect before starting, and our dental technology in Annandale supports minimally invasive techniques in many cases. We also offer nitrous oxide, oral sedation, and IV sedation.
